Theatre Production Course

At Southside Performance Studio, we're passionate about the transformative power of live theatre. Our Theatre Production Course offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich world of stage acting, culminating in thrilling performances in front of live audiences.

About the Course

The Theatre Production Course is designed for students who have completed our three fundamental courses: the Acting Foundation Course, Stage Acting Course, and Screen Acting Course. Building upon the skills and techniques learned in these courses, students will collaborate with a small group of actors to bring an original play to life on stage.

Course Structure

• Rehearsal and Coaching: Throughout the course, students will participate in four rehearsal sessions, each lasting 2 hours. These sessions are scheduled at fixed times for the group of students involved, allowing for focused collaboration and intensive coaching from experienced instructors.

• Live Performance: Upon completion of rehearsals, students will have the opportunity to perform the play in a theatre venue in Glasgow in front of a live audience. This invaluable experience allows students to apply their skills in a real-world performance setting and connect with audiences on an emotional level.
  

Eligibility

To enrol in the Theatre Production Course, students must have successfully completed our three fundamental courses. These courses provide the essential foundation for stage acting and ensure that students are prepared for the challenges of live theatre production.

Course Goals

• Apply acting fundamentals to a professional stage production, honing skills in characterisation, voice, and movement.

• Learn effective rehearsal techniques specific to theatre production, including blocking, script analysis, and ensemble work.

• Collaborate seamlessly with fellow actors in a small group setting, fostering a sense of ensemble and camaraderie.

• Develop confidence and stage presence as a performer, captivating audiences with compelling performances.
  

Course Requirements

This course is exclusively available to students who have completed our three fundamental courses. Additionally, students must pass an audition process to demonstrate their readiness for the challenges of the Theatre Production Course.

Fees & Scheduling

The fee for this course is £150. It includes the writing of an original script, four coaching sessions and a showcase in a venue in Glasgow.
