Short Film Production Course

At Southside Performance Studio, we believe in equipping our students with the skills and experience they need to thrive in the world of acting. Our Short Film Production Course is designed to build upon the foundation laid by our fundamental courses, offering students the opportunity to hone their craft and immerse themselves in the art of acting for screen.

About the Course:

The Short Film Production Course is an exciting step in your journey as an actor. It provides you with the chance to act in an original script alongside another talented performer, all while maintaining professional production standards. This course serves as an introduction to acting for screen, giving you invaluable experience and insights into the industry.

Course Structure:

• Rehearsal and Coaching: The course consists of two rehearsal sessions, each lasting 1 hour. These sessions are scheduled at flexible times to accommodate your busy schedule. During rehearsals, you'll work closely with our experienced coaches to perfect your performance and prepare for filming.

• Shooting Session: Following the rehearsal period, you'll have the opportunity to participate in a shooting session where you'll bring the script to life on camera. This filming session usually last 2h and is scheduled at a time that suits you.
  

Eligibility

To enroll in the Short Film Production Course, you must have successfully completed our three fundamental courses: the Acting Foundation Course, Stage Acting Course, and Screen Acting Course. These courses provide the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the acting industry.

• Learn the ins and outs of working on a film set.

• Develop the ability to take direction and incorporate feedback.

Course Requirements

This course is exclusively available to students who have completed our three fundamental courses. Additionally, students must pass an audition process to demonstrate their readiness for the challenges of the Short Film Production Course.

Final Product

After the filming session, your short film will be professionally edited and made available for streaming on our YouTube Channel. This final product adheres to industry standards and can also serve as material for your acting showreel.

Fees & Scheduling

The fee for this course is £200. It includes the writing of an original script, two coaching sessions, filming and editing.

Disclaimer:

This service is a course destined to give students experience acting in front of a camera. A short film is produced as part of this course as a learning material. Students are more than welcome to use clips of the short film for their showreels. However, the resulting short film is in no way shape or form, made for showreels. Students will be given a script, as they would in a professional setting, and will be expected to learn the lines, rehearse and perform it on the shoot date. As with any professional screen acting jobs, actors do not have a say on the script, filming and editing of this film. No further edits or modifications to the film can be made after its release.

If you are looking for a promotional video for your actor’s showreel, we offer the Showreel Scene service. With this service, the actor has complete control over the script and resulting video.
