STUDIO ETIQUETTE & VALUES

At Southside Performance Studio, our core values of quality, inclusion, and work ethic shape our approach to etiquette. We prioritise professionalism, respect, and care in all interactions, recognising the importance of safeguarding each other's mental health within the industry. Every member of our studio community, including staff and students, is expected to uphold these values. This means fostering an environment where mutual respect is paramount, being mindful of the impact of our actions on others, and respecting both physical and mental boundaries. Collaboration is encouraged, and punctuality and preparedness are essential to uphold our commitment to reliability and accountability. We believe that by embodying these principles, we create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where everyone can thrive.

  • Respect one another.

  • Be mindful of your actions. Something that might not seem like a big deal to you, can be for someone else.

  • Respect each other’s physical and mental space.

  • Be collaborative.

  • Turn up on time and be prepared. Don’t let anyone down.

AUDITION PROCESS FOR THE TWO-YEAR ACTING PROGRAM

If an individual is seeking to train with us in Glasgow for adult acting classes and to pursue a part-time acting program in Scotland with the aim of becoming a member of Spotlight UK and a professional actor, they must first complete our three fundamental courses. During these courses, students are expected to demonstrate a certain level of professionalism and the right attitude to enhance their skills.

Upon completion of the Fundamentals, students will undergo an audition process to showcase their ability to apply fundamental skills, respond to coaching and direction effectively, and commit to achieving desired results. Successful students will then be invited to join our unique and highly effective 'Production Courses Programme', the only program of its kind in the country, designed to train students through intensive practical application, setting them firmly on the path to becoming professional actors.

We maintain rigorous industry standards and aim to develop actors who can thrive as creative professionals. It's important to note that our goal is the success of every student in progressing to the production courses, and we are committed to providing them with all the support and resources they need to excel. All the student needs to do is fully engage and apply themselves.

If booked through the online booking system, you will receive your refund within 5 to 10 days, minus the management fee. If payed by bank transfer, you can expect a full refund within 24h.

Refunds will not be made if the course/service/lesson has either been, already provided or partially started. However, we will provide adequate refund if we cannot run the course or part of the course.

RESCHEDULE

If for any reason you cannot attend your scheduled lesson, let us know at least 24h before it, so we can reschedule it to another time. This allows us to free up the time for someone else who might need it. If you cancel less than 24h before the scheduled time, unfortunately the session will be lost.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS

We want our studio to be super inclusive and we want everyone to feel welcomed and enjoy their time with us. To do this we need to make sure that we can cater for everyone’s need. This is why it’s super important to let us know If you have any learning disability or additional need. That way we can make sure that you and your peers get the most out of the class. If you have an additional need that we cannot care for in a group setting, you will be invited to do the same course in a 121 setting with a trained coach when possible.
